CCS-UK
is the UK’s electronic air cargo community: digitally connecting airlines, freight forwarders, ground handlers, hauliers, HM Revenue and Customs and Border Force, to facilitate the sharing of information that’s essential to the efficient movement of the UK’s vitally important air exports and imports.
AIS
AIS (Advance Information System) enables freight agents, and transport companies working on their behalf, to pre-alert handling agents of loads being delivered and picked up, reducing paperwork and delays on arrival of the truck, and eradicating re-keying errors.
AIS Ro-Ro
AIS RoRo is a new enhancement to the AIS Module. It interfaces with several other Customs processing systems and communities, and allows air and surface cargo carried on trucks via the Channel Tunnel and on roro ferries to and from the UK mainland, to be cleared at remote locations away from potentially congested ports.
This facility will be particularly important during the early days following BREXIT, whether or not a deal is reached, as new procedures and tariffs coming into force could place severe strain on Customs clearance and Border Force resources at ports, leading to long border delays.
